Embrace the Season and our Senses: Holiday Hosting Workshop with The Floral Society and Bloomy Cheese & Provisions

Step into the world of The Floral Society and Bloomy to embrace joyful and meditative holiday hosting. Grounding ourselves in the principles of seasonality and supporting local agriculture, we will explore how sustainable décor such as potted plants, candlelight, and dried florals can add so much to a winter tablescape. You'll learn how to build a cheese board with a variety of cheese styles and textures that meets all your guests' needs while supporting small producers, and you'll assemble your own mini cheese board to take home that evening. Throughout the workshop we will have plenty of cheese, wine, and accompaniments to enjoy.

Your ticket includes education, cheese board instruction, two-person cheese board to take home, all food and beverages, a resource guide for local and sustainable holiday hosting, and 10% off your next purchase in The Floral Society Holiday Shoppe and Bloomy.

Date: Thursday November 7, 2024
Time: 7pm - 9pm
Location:
The Floral Society Holiday Shoppe

ABOUT BLOOMY CHEESE & PROVISIONS:

Bloomy is an independent woman-owned cheese shop in Dobbs Ferry, in New York's beautiful lower Hudson Valley. The shop features dozens of American and imported cut-to-order artisan cheeses, fine charcuterie and pantry items, handmade gifts from local artists, classes and workshops for cheese lovers, wine and beer service, catering, and a relentless commitment to the mission of Lactose & Tolerance.

Bloomy owner Jessica Galen loved cheese from a young age, and assisted in cheese caves at the legendary Murray's Cheese and for Cato Corner Farm, a raw milk farmstead cheesemaker, while in graduate school for Food Studies at NYU (ask her about her thesis on cheese consumption during pregnancy). She also served as a general manager at Lucy's Whey, then the Upper East Side's largest artisan cheese shop. Through these roles she developed a deep appreciation for the tireless work of farmers, cheesemakers and affineurs (cheese agers) that continues to inspire her every day. She has dedicated her career to supporting independent farming, most recently as Director of Communications at Stone Barns Center.
